"Also....check out Chobani greek yogurt. A little higher in calories per container (larger serving), but packs a PROTEIN punch. I really try to avoid anything "artificial" and this is pretty straightforward stuff."
Funny you should mention Chobani, because I happened to have a cup in my fridge. I've been reading a lot about greek yogurt, and how it has better nutritional value than most yougurts. When I went to the grocery store last week, I decided to buy some and try it out. Chobani was the only brand they had available at Target. So, I bought two vanilla flavored Chobani Greek yogurts.
Here is what the packaging looks like...
I totally agree with you Libby on the nutrition with this greek yogurt vs. other yogurts in general. It definitely packs a harder/healthier punch.
- All Natural, no artificial sweetners or preservatives.
- Fat, 0g
- Cholesterol, 0g
- Sodium, 65mg
- Carbs, 13g
- Sugar, 13g
- Protein, 16g!!!!!!!!!!
- Calories, 120 (not too bad)
Question: Do all greek yogurts have this different kind of texture, or is it just this brand?

I'm glad you commented on the texture, because I was definitely curious about that. I think I'll still give it a shot, but I like knowing what's coming.
Also, you mentioned Smart Balance products. If you're in the market for sour cream it looks like Daisy Brand sour cream (the light version) has a little less fat, and in turn few calories from fat.
I know I make a point of really stirring the yogurt before I eat it so I think that smooths it out a bit, but yes the texture is different than regular yogurt. I think you might find some differences across brands too. Not sure where you shop, but I know Festival has another brand in the health food section ....Fage is the brand name I think.
Try the blueberry or peach before giving up on it. Stir it up good and see if it grows on you a bit.
And thanks for the shout out! I am enjoying the blog : )
