Action City and More

Today is turning out to be a little stressful.  I'm trying my hardest to calm down, and do things one at a time, but the THINGS are taking over a bit... eeek!

BREAKFAST

This morning I got to sleep in a little, which was great!  Breakfast was my usual scrambled eggs, whole wheat English muffin with Smart Balance spread, AND a small glass of Almond milk.

Mmmm, look at that delicious almond milk!

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES BE GONE!

I took two of the 10 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to work today to leave in the cafe.  I'm sure they'll be gone by the end of the day.  I think I'll take two boxes in per week until they're all gone!  I'll try and get a picture of how many are left around 4 o' clock. :)

I did have one of the Thank You Berry Munch cookies.  They have cranberries in them.  Tasty!

Not too bad, plus I only had half of the serving size (one cookie)...

MORNING SNACK

Guess what!?  I tried a new Greek yogurt today:  Stonyfield Farm Oikos Greek Organic yogurt, vanilla flavor.  110 Calories.

I mixed in a little Bear Naked classic granola to liven things up...

This brand of Greek yogurt was pretty good!  Not as tart or sharp as the Chobani vanilla or plain flavors.  Oikos has a nice mild flavor, and no gritty after taste.  The container and serving size was still a bit much for me snack wise.  I didn't eat it all.  I was full by the time I was half way through the container.  I would eat this brand and flavor again.  But, so far the Chobani Blueberry greek yogurt is my favorite!

LUNCH

I had a lunch meeting today, so I quick ate my lunch at my desk before leaving.  I had a leftover grilled pork chop and noodles from last night's dinner, plus some carrots.  (They were having pizza at the meeting, but I thought this would be much healthier.)

LUNCH MEETING AT ACTION CITY - Big Brother's Big Sisters Bowl-a-thon Kickoff!

Today was the Big Brother's Big Sisters of North Western Wisconsin Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraiser Kickoff Meeting for Team Captains.  WOW that's a mouthful! :)  This is the third year that our firm is participating by having a bowling team of five people in the event, and raising money for Big Brother's Big Sisters.  I am usually the team captain for our team. :)  So, I attended the team captain kickoff meeting to learn about any changes and new/fun things happening with the event this year.

The meeting was held at Action City, which is "Where the Fun Never Stops" (their tagline).  It's a huge building with arcade games, a climbing wall, a go-cart race track, batting cages, bumper cars, laser tag, you name it!

Metropolis Resort, Action City, and Chaos Water Park are all kind of one entity.  This whole complex is supposed to draw people to Eau Claire to vacation with kids.

Each year the Bowl for Kids' Sake Bowl-a-thon has a theme.  This year it's a western theme.  Our team name is the Ruder Rattlers'.  Here's Christina, she's the marketing director for our local Big Brothers Big Sisters.  She runs this whole event.

I'll blog more in detail about this event, and tell you all about it once I start fundraising for it and getting our team in order!  It's really fun!  Here's a taste though - our team from last year.... Breakin' the Law!

Look at my hair!  It's so blond!  I'm the second one in, after the one dude in the pic.

COFFEE BREAK

On the way back to the office, I stopped at The Coffee Grounds and picked up a medium French Creme Brulee flavored coffee.  Mmmmm!

I only looked around for a few minutes before I left.  Carl and I are always impressed with the enourmous beer selection at this cafe.  You can pick and choose your own six pack.  We haven't done it yet.  We are always too overwhelmed with the choices to pick anything out!!!!

AFTERNOON SNACK

Time for my afternoon snack!  I brought a Honey Crisp apple, and I have one bar (of two) left from my Kashi Roasted Almond Crunch granola bar from yesterday.  I'll finish it off.  I really like this granola bar.  I usually eat chewy granola bars, but this one has a nice mild taste, and the crunch is great!

Time to hit the treadmill!

I did try my Chobani blueberry yogurt, but it didn't get a fair chance. I brought it to work, and it was insanely busy, probably the worst day of work I've had. I only had a few bites and then left the container sitting on my desk to get warm. Hopefully the Chobani strawberry will have better luck. I've been eating some Activia (is that it?) yogurt in the meantime. Work has slowed down, but not that much. No reason to waste a large container.
