Walkin on Sunshine

I just got back from being outside on a lovely lunch time walk!  The sun is out and so warm, and the sky is blue and gorgeous!  I wish I could stay outside and read a book on a bench by the river.  Sigh.  Suzie and I had a Youth Leadership Eau Claire Curriculum committee meeting at the Chamber of Commerce office today over the lunch hour, and we decided to walk over and back.  We made a great decision.  It's about a 30 minute walk round trip.  (Nice to walk and talk!)

There wasn't lunch at the meeting, just cookies and chips (of which I did not partake, okay, I had a Cheeto from Suzie's bag).  So, I ate my lunch at work before I left.  Today I brought the leftover egg salad I made last night to make a egg salad sandwich on a wheat bread sandwich thin.  I also had some carrots on the side.

Mmmm, sammich!

Walking back to our offices from the meeting, we stopped in the new Fusion shake and smoothie bar.  Fusion sells meal replacement shakes in several different varieties and flavors.  The owner said that each meal replacement shake has 24 grams of protein, 250 calories, and all of the nutrients you would get in a normal meal.  (Sorry I didn't take any photos, but I will next time.  I'm sure I'll try one of her shakes out pretty soon.)  We didn't get anything this time around because we had already eaten lunch.  Fusion also has a Wellness Challenge going on.  The group meets every Monday night and they have life coaching and nutrition sessions.  Pretty cool!

BACK TO BREAKFAST

Sorry this is out of order, but breakfast was the usual this morning - scrambled eggs, whole wheat English muffin with Smart Balance spread, and a glass of OJ.

ON TO MORNING SNACK

Morning snack was simple - banana and a Fiber One, vanilla yogurt.  Cute Chiquita sticker!

AFTERNOON SNACK TO COME

Right now I'm savoring a dark chocolate and going to chug some water, but later around 3PM I plan to have an apple and a Kashi Roasted Almond Crunch granola bar.

I would love to see the ingredients list on those Fusion Shakes. Color me skeptical.
