I had to boogie out of work around 3PM to head to the eye doctor, which meant I wouldn't have time to eat my afternoon snack. I threw my Kashi granola bar in my purse to eat on the way. :)
The vision center I've been going to for the past couple of years is in the mall. I walked through Scheels All Sports on the way, and picked up my mom a Klean Kanteen like the one I bought yesterday. I picked her out an orange one. (Not sure if you caught her comment on my post yesterday - that she wanted one, hint, hint.) :D
On to my eye appointment. Carl and I both go to Vision World. It's just your average vision center, and I really don't even remember why we started coming here. I think it may have been that this was the only place that we both found glasses frames that we liked. Carl and I both wear glasses to see - period. We can't go without them. I wear both glasses and contacts, mostly contacts. I think I got my first pair of glasses in the 7th grade when I realized that I couldn't see the chalk board anymore.
Today I had the full menu for an eye exam. Everything was tested, and I had my eyes dilated which I haven't had done in many years. It was time. All went well, and the doc said my eyes are in good shape. I have the same prescription too. I ordered some contacts, and decided to wait on ordering new glasses. I could barely see up close anyway due to the dilation. I think I'm going to order the same frames I have now anyway. I still like the style, but I think they're getting a bit worn out. I sometimes sleep in them on accident and they get bent. I know, I'm terrible. :P
Homeward Bound for a Big Run
When I got home from the eye doctor, I immediately opened all the windows in the house because it was such a beautiful and warm evening. Vlad and I headed downstairs to knock out a treadmill run/walk. I did 40 minutes on the treadmill (25 min running, and 15 min walking), and then did 10 minutes of strength training. My run was a little off because I felt so strange with my eyes dilated. Everything looked fuzzy around the edges and it was throwing me off. I did finish watching The Time Traveler's Wife, which had a really decent ending, very sad, but touching. The ending was the best part of the whole movie. I'm not sure it was worth watching the whole thing just to see the ending though. I also started my next disc of Ghost Whisperer episodes. I'm really liking those a lot! :D
Dinnertime!
Dinner tonight was sauteed beef over brown rice with steamed veggies. I also had some sauteed mushrooms on my beef. I had steamed greenbeans with almond slivers, and Carl had steamed broccoli (he doesn't like greenbeens, but I love them). We had dinner on our new white plates!
After dinner, I stole one of the Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal, Walnut Super cookies out of the cookie jar. Carl almost had a fit! I told him to deal with it. Though, we are running a bit low on super cookies...
Time to play ball with Vlad, and read a New Yorker I think. Tomorrow is going to be a long day with a drive to and from Wausau, WI.
