Today I took a vacation day from work to chill-ax at home. Every now and then I do this for myself to regroup and feel refreshed. I've really just been reading and hanging out with Vlad most of the day, which has been GREAT!
I tried to sleep in this morning, but I just couldn't do it. I ended up getting up around 6AM, and reading in bed. The good news is that I FINALLY finished Committed, by Elizabeth Gilbert.
Breakfast was the usual today - scrambled eggs, whole wheat English muffin, and a glass of OJ (Trop 50). I didn't even get a picture of it - hey, I'm on vacation!
Around 10AM, I snacked on a Fiber One vanilla yogurt and a banana. Then Vlad and I headed to the dog park.
DOG PARK FUN (and cold)
Vlad and I went to the dog park for him to expend a little energy. We haven't been to the park since winter officially started back in November. We walked 4 laps around the park (which is equivalent to approx. 3/4 of a mile), for about a 30 minute walk. Vlad had fun running and sniffing on everything. He especially likes to follow the fence line and sniff there.
He also greeted and chased the few other pups at the park.
He had a great time. I, on the other hand, did not have a great time. I thought it was supposed to be warmer today, and though I had dressed warmly enough, it was COLD and very, very WINDY at the park. I was freezing! My nose was running, my face was numb, my finger tips were on the verge of numbness in my gloves... ahhhhh! I was ready to go home pretty quickly. Too bad! At least he got a 30 minute romp.
When we got back from the dog park, I made myself a nice salad for lunch and a glass of almond milk.
More reading and relaxing to come. Can't wait!
